Sunday Breakfast: Apam Balik


What will you do when you come across a recipe of your favourite food ? Is cooking is your thing, then I am sure you will hit the kitchen in an instant, hoping that the outcome will look exactly like the picture that you see on the recipe. Well, truth is, a good recipe is only a mere 10% of the entire effort to create your fav food. The rest is all about experience. So this morning, I think I am a long way to achieve the perfect Apam balik recipe, but at least it resembles about 70% of the actual thing and it is certainly edible. As I savour our breakfast today (and certainly mumbling the mantra " you'll get it perfect next time" ) I promise to myself that I'll continue to improve the recipe next time.

APAM BALIK

Bahan-bahan ( 4-5 orang )
2 cawan tepung gandum
½ cawan gula
1 sudu teh soda bicarbonate
1 sudu teh baking powder
Sedikit pewarna kuning (omited)
1 biji telur
1½ cawan air
Sedikit mentega/planta untuk mengoles

Bahan tabur :
Kacang tanah yang sudah dikisar
Gula
Krim jagung

Cara-cara
1. Mesin gula bersama telur hingga kembang,
2. Masukkan soda, bicarbonate, air dan pewarna kuning. Mesin lagi hingga sebati.
3. Masukkan tepung dan mesin lagi sehingga sebati. (ADUNAN SIAP)
4. Oleskan planta di permukaan kuali & tuangkan adunan tadi ikut ketebalan anda suka,
kemudian nipiskan.
5. Biarkan seketika & sementara menunggu masak, taburkan bahan tabur di atas.
6. Apabila cukup masak, angkat dan dilipat DUA sebelum dipotong.
